How do you usually use your Canonet? Set the speed and leave it on 'A', or do you set your own appeture?
I'm used to appeture priority (on an Olympus XA), so it's all a bit alien for me.
Haven't really had the chance to use mine yet - you know how it is: dark when you leave for work & dark when you come home!

Hi Steve, this was shot with my old canonet ql25 (now sold), and I used it on manual only. This was shot with 400asa film with the lighting from a garage forecourt only. So I think I shot it at f2.5 and 1/15s, the slowest I can shoot without handshake. I let the film latitude take up the exposure errors :)
With my newer QL17, I shoot on A most of the time since I use it as a street shooting mostly. Set the aperture on A and move shutter speeds until the needle is within the acceptable zone and snap :)

Thanks for the info, Gary. Hopefully I'll get to shoot this week as I'm on nightshift - plenty of opportunity to shoot during the day.
