This is cool. How about image quality?

""!This is cool. How about image quality"" Eddie!
these old cameras have lenses so brill that todays cameras weep in shame:
have a QL19: have always been a bit wary about sending cameras away to be fixed: with your reccie I might ship one or two of mine to Ohio

This one must have been handled with kid gloves. Can't see any nicks or marks on the body. Congratulations.

Yay, congrats!

Hey foxglove, the chap who fixed it is the *god* of rangefinder cameras! This guy can fix anything! And he's really nice too, I think he's just a retired camera buff looking to help out. He doesn't charge much either. Only cost me $30 inc postage :) (obviously this depend on the job too!) If you need him then go to www.rangefinderforum.com and look for Greyhoundman! :)

It's mint alright Eryxi! Shame the case is totally buggered! :D

Very cool, Gary! Now get shooting! ;)

Good to there's someone outthere that will give these babies some TLC for reasonable $. I keep using mine enough and it'll need a shutter fix eventually.

Ironically the shutter problem only arises from cameras that had been put away for years without use. So as long as you carry on snapping you should be alright! :)

Blister gone
thanks for the tip! unfortunately shortly after i posted that i noticed a small crack on the inside of the lens... haven't developed the film to find out if it affects the image. hopefully not!

KF 红相机
Which lens? The front element? How big is the crack? The front element can be taken out easily and if it is just a bit of hair or a surface scratch then you can just clean it off. It just pops off like a contact lens :) Let us know if you need any help.

Do you like using the focussing lever on these?

KF 红相机
It's not bad actually... took a bit of getting used to but one soon gets the hang of it :) I have a 35SP as well which has the same system. Bit weird for SLR users at first.
