I love the canonet but its very hard to find one that doesn't have the sticky shutter problem. This one developed it shortly after the 1st roll and now is in the states being serviced by a chap from rangefinderforum.com who knows his stuff!! Hopefully it should be good as new.

I actually find them really easy to use and a pleasure to shoot with metered or manual. Don't know why but the feel is just right!! (that is, until I can afford a Minolta 7SII!!!)

Uh oh...what's the sticky shutter problem? I just got one of these on ebay, and it seems to be firing nicely.

don't worry, if it's been well used then the shutter should be fine. problem arises from the lack of use and the lubrication from the lens housing seeps onto the blades and causes it to stick. my first canonet shot through one entire roll before it became stuck.
