Wonderful!!

Cheers guys! It was a lucky shot, you don't tend to catch the tube in london being this quiet!
Ted Forbes
Great fed shots in here!
Michael Dooney
Great shot. Nice work with the Jupiter 8, I may need to take mine out a little more often.
crossguy72
I love the look on her face in this one.
JoeFriday
very pretty girl
and now I'm thinking that giving my Jupiter 8 to wlewisiii might not have been such a smart move! LOL
KF 红相机
Cheers Joe :) I reckon for the price (£7.99) the J8 has to be a great lens for the buck! Sure it's not a noctilux or a zeiss but it sure produces creamy bokeh! :D
_ken_
This is beautiful bokeh.
I have Jupiter-12 :)
wandering bells
Love those circles of confusion! But why is the edge of the frame so blurry?
KF 红相机
Hehe the picture was scanned from the negative and I didn't crop it at all. The black 'borders' are acutally the bits of the film that wasn't exposed. Most film borders are like this, it's just that most labs crop them out :)
wandering bells
The reason why I was wondering, I'm usually printing full frames myself and the edges on my negs (from Zarya and FED3b) ar at least a little bit more defined than here. Even when the image touching the border is out of focus (like your background so gloriously is here). The only exception is when there's too much light in the frame, it will seep right over the edges.
teotwawki
50mm is great. I kept hearing about it being a natural focal length, etc... but it took some experimentation and appreciation of shots like this to understand it. And that scanner - great. It does justice to your photography.

Aww ta! :)
Cedric Bramble
marvelous image. that bokeh is wonderful. that grain is nice too.
Tom Tiger
Cute :-)
Another Victory for the Jupiter!

Cool candid shot! Very nicely done.

Stunner!!! Love tube shots - great portrait, great bokeh, and great vanishing point - how great can it be? (123)

Kosmo Foto
Stunning shot. You're right - the bokeh is fantastic. Looking forward to combing through more of your Russian camera shots (I'm a Fed, Zorki, Kiev, Lomo and Zenit shooter myself)...
Gabriel M.A.
You like the J-8 bokeh? Try a Jupiter 3! I still can't find an unscratched J-8, maybe that's why...
Lovely photo, btw.

Wonderful photo. Great composition.

This is an amazing shot, I'd be proud. You've inspired me to get a Jupiter 8.
KF 红相机
it's a good lens to have :) i have two now! which rangefinder body are you going to mount it on then? oh a word of advice, get a lens hood for it! it does flare a bit if its too bright :)
hoop6000
I have a Fed 5B on the way (it will come with an Industar 61) to mount the Jupiter on. The main reason I got a Fed 5B is because it has a light meter on it, do you carry a light meter with you?
KF 红相机
I don't really like the FED5 light meter as most are pretty inaccurate, and even when they are still working, they are sluggish and doesn't cover a wide enough range. Once you have a dead meter you will still have this ugly selenium window on the camera :( i prefer the FED5 (non-light meter) Olympic version! :)
Yes I carry a cheap CdS battery powered light meter (£1.99 ebay!) as it's much more responsive and i won't have to worry about it if it dies :)
chris sainsbury
fantastic shot - (almost) makes me want to put the 5D to one side for a bit and try some real photography again.
noiseless page
Beautiful portrait:-) I like also that rounded corners that comes from FED (though i got rather ugly 5B).
Another Partial Success
Very nice - captures the eye and makes you think "what's she looking at".
I love pictures which make you ask things... stimulate the brain!
Cracking shot.

I like.
enormous knife
i like the bokeh. it's the best out of all the Russian lenses. the industar 61 LD is sharp, but doesn't have the character of the J8. it's not all about sharpness :)
KF 红相机
agreed. also the high contrast of the 61LD isn't always good news for portraits
cmexonaT
Very exciting bokeh and grain altogether.
Now I know that to expect of mine J-8 in B&W filming :)
