thanks mate :) yeah the zuiko 50mm 1.4 is pretty sharp when it wants to be, but soft as well sometimes :-\ haven't figured out why just yet!

Nice! It does get a little crazy back there, but I like it. This 1.4 has a lot more vignetting than the one I have (last version). I want one!

sweet dof and leica-like quality. this is to prove that zuiko know how to make a good lens (when they want to). OM1 was my first serious camera after two zeniths. i loved it, but i left it back home for my ex and took her ricoh slr instead (which promptly finished at camera dealer's in ravenscourt, because i needed to pay my rent)

Matt: oooo you have a sharp eye! yes indeed I have an early 'silver ring' version of the 1.4 :)

Kris: always sad when you have to swap cameras for foolish items of luxury like... food... or a bed :(

It's a nice lens but a bit pricey. I managed to get one for £30 which is excellent, but most go for about £50-£60 :( produces nice bokeh with some lovely vignetting when slightly underexposed.

I would still recommend a M42 CZJ Flektogon 35mm f2.4 though! :)

£60 does seem to be the going rate. You were very fortunate to find one at £30 (you lucky git :-)).

My wife will go mental if I buy anymore camera gear. I think I'll have to scour some local bootsales to see what I can turn up. At least I can convince her that it'll be a bargain then!
