not just Russian cameras then ;)
Was this a tilt shift lens, or PS?

wow you are fast steve! :D
no this was my trusty Praktica MTL5b, now sold due to my friend giving me a MTL50 :) No fiddling here, merely the cool effects of a Takumar 50mm f1.4 shot wide open! DOF probably around 1-2 cm mark!

ahh f1.4. The Takumar has quite close focusing then.
(doing revision for some exams, so naturally i'm flickr-ing ;)

lol man i was so bad with that during my dissertation period!! :D
not too close, about standard for these Japanese lenses, 0.45m which incidentally is also the closest focusing range of the Zuiko 50mm f1.8... hmmm Of course the German lenses all go down to stupid levels of closeness, with the Flek topping it all at 18cm!

Actually a de Havilland Vampire, probably Sea Vampire F. Mk.20...

aha! thought it was a Vamp at first, should have went with my geeky instincts next time :)
elegant observation
Quite - it's also _Gloster_ Meteor. Be sure to refer any aviation matters to me in future before posting ;-)

Points off for getting the model wrong. You will have much time to ponder your mistake in the work camps of Siberia ;-)

Of course, if it was a Soviet plane it would have been no problem!
Nyet! Not the gulags!

If that's the case, identify this (a Xmas present bought in Moscow by my very good friend chirgy):
Extra points for the pilot's name!

Easy, Mig 3 :) Don't know about the ace though... looks like a three time receiver of the Hero of the Soviet Union.

Aleksandr Ivanovich Pokryshkin - I've 'declassified' the box artwork - which probably means it's my turn for the gulags. Smert Shpionam!
