I finally got mine! Yay! Mine is dark blue. Very nice indeed.

Cheers jensm! Actually it's not really that *new* anymore, ive had it for several months now and is my fav shooter right now! Big and heavy but I just love it! Got a jupiter f2 lens for it too. Go to my rangefinder folder to some of the shots taken with it. I'm also uploading some new shots from the 4 rolls I shoot in London recently! :)

Apparently, after 1945 the russians took lots of factory equipment from Germany, eg from the camera factories, and shipped it "wholesale" east to Russia:

That link I've got up there has much more info on them including the full history of both FEDs and Zorkis! :) I prefer FEDs as Zorkis made lots of export models which were poorly made (painted shutter speeds instead of ingraved etc)

These cameras are great if you get one that works! :D I was lucky, mine worked fine but the lens was crap so I got myself a Jupiter 8, which is another legend of Soviet engineering :D
