Oh yes it's pretty sweet alright! Apparently the 1.4 is meant to be even better! :) (in the post right now) You should get some Zuiko lenses Dunc, you can use it via a OM -> EOS adapter! They are very very small but built like a Leica lens with a metal mount, and they are sharp as hell!

It really isn't that shabby for a kit lens. Quite sharp I find.

Sigma's lenses are a bit hit and miss... I just bought a Sigma mini-wide, then sold it straight away as the build quality was awful! I'm using a Tamron 28-70 3.5-4.5 as my oly zoom.
