I had one of those , some ... years ago.
A heavy and bulky Zenit 11, equipped with a very dark viewfinder. That was my very first SLR, quite affordable, slow to use, but I've learned the basics of photography with it.
I switched for a very nice Pentax 30n afterwards.
Nice to see some of us are using these workhorses.

HA! You thought the 11 was *dark*! :D The TTL is awful!!! I bought the TTL along with a 11, which broke on arrival. The TTL doesn't even have the fresnel screen for focusing which is bad enough, but the darkness makes this even harder!

This is the camera with which I consider purchase next.:)

I don't know if I can recommend it clarice! :) Look into the 12XP or the 11. The TTL is actually an upgraded Zenit B, so lacks a bright viewfinder and easy focusing of the Zenit E series. The match needle isn't very clear either so it was difficult figuring out the correct exposure!

You seem to have a new camera routine like mine. Take the same shots over and over.
I really like this shot. spot on focusing! good stuff!

Heheh took me long enough to focus! The damn viewfinder is so dim!! I hate ground glass!!!!!
Thanks for the note btw :)

Hehe!
Has anybody looked and taken Zenit (Зенит) 3 ? ))
You should live in Russia to understand what is it. It's our history. ;o))
And in any Zenit you've got just 64% of full view - don't forget!

hehe yes actually :) the body is really nice and small,. much nicer than the later beasts!!
you should check out my other soviet camera pics. i've got several FEDs, Zorkis and a Kiev 4! Love all of them :)

hmm
Early FEDs and KIEVs were exact copies of Leica and Contax cameras, 'cause they were produced on trophy german equipment.

hi!
the ttl meter is good?
this zenit is as the 122 about the led in the viewfinder, right? (the 3 led that indicate the exposition)
do you suggest me this reflex?
KF 红相机
hi, no it's much earlier than the 122. it's basically a zenit E but with the selenium replaced by a viewfinder meter. and the meter is just a moving pin ( + o - ) on the side. to be honest i found the ground glass viewfinder too dark to focus with, or even see the metering pin! you will probably be better off with a 122 or a xp

your suggests are gold for me!
