Nice Fed2...I have an all black one, later model with self-timer [d or e, still trying to suss it out]. Nice yellow filter. My lens has a dent, so can't get filteers on it. Bought a substitute lens, also turned up with a dent. : ( Your lens looks a sweeeeet model!

All black? Very nice! :) A self timer would have been nice on this one but at least it's mint! Seriously looked like it was never used (god knows why). Sorry to hear about your lenses! I think you can get them straightened out in camera shops? Of just get another lens! :) I would recommend the Jupiter 8!

I will have to scribble to you sometime for aome advice about russian rangefinders like the feds:
esp the ones that are always described as "leica copies":
they may have moved the german factories east, but did they take the technicians too!??!

It has a great history of the whole Soviet camera industry! As far as I know they didn't get the technicians (as they were probably scattered all over germany as everyone ran away from the Russkies, or dead in a trench in a wehrmacht uniform), but they did get all the moulds and stuff, especially from the Contax factory, thus allowing a great series of contax copies (Kiev).

I think they were copying Leicas even before the war! They got their hands on a few Leica IIs and took it apart and bingo! (almost) Mass production :)

They are great fun, I would recommend a FED2 as a good starting point. Happy hunting!

Thanks for the tip Krasnyi, sad thing is, I bought another lens, the Jupiter 8, that was the second one that turned up dented. : (

Otherwise, mine is pretty well mint too. The black isn't going to stay mint, I suspect, but otherwise, very happy. Will try a camera repair store re: dented filter rings, such a shame. Yours looks flawless, love the yellow filter too.

I have the red/brownish leatherette one.
yours look really mint!
unfortunately I don't have the ФЭД lens on it, but the industar 26 and a jupiter 8 in my Fed.
I think It would be fun having to take out the filter to change aperture :)
